interleaving of emitters
interleave emitter signals based on user priorities
engineers want to minimize the number of rf sources and maximize the number of produced radar signals. a good approach is to interleave the radar signals and produce a single combined signal. due to the high density of present radars, it is likely that pulses overlap and create pulse on pulse situations. the option r&s®smw-k306 uses a clever algorithm to interleave signals and drop pulses in case they collide, based on an optimized, user defined priority scheme.
the diagram below depicts the interleaving result of four navigation radars. the radar signals are shown separate with pulses and simulated power levels over time. pulses colored in blue will be generated by the vector signal generator r&s®smw200a. pulses colored in red will be dropped because of a collision with pulses from other radars.
