one intuitive software platform
-
- r&s®pulse sequencer software gui.
the r&s®pulse sequencer software is used to generate signal. the signal can be stored on the local hard disk or can be transmitted directly to the assigned signal generator if the required software option is installed on the signal generator.
the r&s®pulse sequencer software has an intuitive and clearly structured graphical user interface. the menu bar in the gui includes all the commonly used drop down menus with settings for working with the software. the toolbar gives users quick access to a new or to existing repositories for maintaining and managing them. a wizard helps users to quickly configure signals by automatically going to all the dialogs necessary. on the left side of the gui, users have access to all the items needed to set-up the scenario, such as such as defined pulses, sequences-, and inter-pulse modulation profiles. the main screen shows the configured scenario and includes all the details for generating the signal.
repository tree with configured content
- r&s®pulse sequencer repository tree.
in the repository tree, all the configured items (scenarios, sequences, pulses, etc.) are stored and become visible after they have been expanded. each item can be reused in different scenarios. in addition, the configured signal generator(s) to be used for waveform generation are listed here. with r&s®sgt-k301, the tree contains the following additional items: emitters, antenna patterns, antenna scans and plugins.
block diagram for signal generation
-
- block diagram in the r&s®pulse sequencer software gui.
the block diagram gives an overview of the full signal generation chain. the scenario configuration, waveform generation and instrument assignment can be accessed via the block diagram. the r&s®sgt-k301 option provides the 2d scenario type for localized emitters. the emitter and receiver configuration dialog can be accessed via the 2d button in the emitters block. the generated waveform can be transmitted directly to the assigned signal generator and stored in the repository. once a waveform is stored in the repository, it can be loaded from the repository and sent to the assigned signal generator without running through a new waveform generation process. the user also has the choice to save the waveform intentionally on a hard disk or usb device instead of transmitting the waveform directly to a signal generator.
application: configuration of complex sequences with pulses
-
- sequencing features with r&s®smw-k301.
ther&s®sgt-k301 option enables a sequencing editor that lets users configure logic control elements such as loops, nested loops, subsequences and overlays. the sequence of the signals is defined in an editor and is automatically displayed in a block diagram so that the configured sequence can be easily cross-checked. sequencing items can be configured pulses or waveforms. the complete sequence according to the configured sequencing logic and selected sequencing items (waveform or pulse) is then calculated either as a single waveform or as a multi-segment waveform.
application: definition of antenna diagrams and antenna scan types for emitters
-
- cosecant antenna diagram.
in case the influence of an antenna diagram on a transmitted pulse sequence is to be considered, r&s®sgt-k301 allows antenna diagrams and antenna scans to be defined very flexibly. it provides a number of predefined antennas, such as pencil beam, parabolic beam- and conical beam, as well as an import function to apply user-defined antenna patterns. it also supports multiple scan types, like circular scan, helical scan, conical scan, lobe switching, sector or raster scan. before the antenna diagram and antenna scan are applied to the defined pulse sequence, a 3d preview of the antenna diagram and antenna scan is available.
